Iron ship at the Wooden Boat Festival in Risør!
The big city life is over, and Hestmanden has found the sea route to the southern idyll of Risør. The Risør Wooden Boat Festival this year celebrates a full 40 years. In addition, Risør’s 300th anniversary is marked, and the town abounds with folk life and beautiful sea vessels. The show is played on Wednesday and Thursday, and seems to fill up, so you have to be quick!
In Risør we also found a lovely place to stay at Moens Båtbyggeri. An apartment on the second floor of one of the old boat sheds. There are no much more beautiful surroundings, and a wonderful place to find peace.
